BLACK HEAVENS WHITE FOLKS

Welcome to my world yonder, Where you find all the lost souls sailing under, Although it stinks, please bear with us, Although reason hold no one but we got choice, That while in multitude of words I was cause. In union they look to zone me down, Those are children of my father’s house, In whose eyes I fine mayhem of various kinds. So darkling was their sense of morals  That they eat yet the fable among us.  Coming houses the prejudice every hold dear, So you think we know not the end start today, Buying the spirit of mean fellow chain by freewill, So you thought the world end yesteryear, Think well because we bear the mark,  Of the roads that leads tomorrow minds. So see now, If justice their talks about justcause, Dear her liberators and see, If your children will not be the meat for market girt, But off all these: Truth is, we die in ignorance of love, Truth is the god in whose belly justice reside, Truth is, w...

NEWTONS ADVICE TO JONATHAN AND HIS CORRUPT COUNTRY

Image
It is good that our president finally woke up and decided to take a stand on corruption. His stand, however controversial, is still a stand and we applaud him for his observations. Like all observations the world over, there is bound to be consequences and I’m here to discuss the expected consequences of the saintly president’s pronunciation that Nigerians are corrupt. You see, the speech itself is a walk to remember in irony. The personality of the speechmaker is another aspect of the picture that is inconsistent with the observation. It is however important to separate the man from the speech if possible or we can just forget all the niceties and rip into him once and for all. After all, we are the corrupt generation and our every action helps foster the trade according to our OgaAtTheTop. Never mind the fact that the man elected to fight corruption, one who campaigned rigorously on eradicating corruption and who should be at the forefront of the fight to make Nigeria cor...

Words can't say goodbye

I looked through the depths of the seeming sky.. Turned upside down, the ground becomes the sky.. Rain fell from the grasses, upon the clouds.. As i saw the last glimpse of her tender smile.. The evenings spent in the wild weren't enough.. For through it all, we wished for more.. The moments of pleasures, intense and rough.. Formed a bond indestructible,by lore.. Terrains on the palace of dreams... I saw her eyes, filled wit tears, to the brim.. The pain unbearable, paradise scaled to the pale-blue dust.. Where loneliness directs the soul to the lands of the lost..   By Danny El Gentledan edited by Adedoyin Adetutu

APC Congratulates Nigerians on ItsRegistration, Says It Is Victory forDemocracy

Image
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated Nigerians on the emergence of the new party, saying with the birth of APC, Nigerians now have an alternative to a ruling party that has taken the people for a bad ride in the past 14 years. In a statement issued by its interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, in Lagos on Wednesday, APC said its emergence is a victory for Nigeria and for democracy, and that it has now also propelled the country to the league of top democratic nations with two major political parties. “The journey has been long and tortuous. All sorts of obstacles were thrown into our path by anti-democratic forces, but we were painstaking, determined and unrelenting in our quest for a formidable platform that will allow our country, Nigeria, to achieve her full potentials and join the league of respectable nations.” With the approval of our merger by INEC and the emergence of APC, today marks the beginning of a new dawn for our count...

From Port Harcourt With Shame By Abimbola Adelakun

By now, every Nigerian with a sense of decency who has seen the video, which has since gone viral, of the  impeachment  drama in Rivers State should be disheartened. The power play that blew up after the crisis of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum chairmanship election is inching towards an unpalatable conclusion. It is not sufficient that 35 governors could not resolve between their bumbling selves who won a simple election, the story keeps taking unpleasant twists and turns. It is increasingly obvious that as long as the “Ogas-at-the-top” from our corridors of inordinate power remote-control the crisis, there can be no fairy tale ending. The continuing skirmish feeds their insatiable savage egos; where the whole affair is headed is pregnant and nursing a baby at the same time. As the sordid tale emanating from Port Harcourt goes, five lawmakers, who were probably high on their own supplies, decided to “impeach” the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly. The fact that ...
