Teenage boy killed in border skirmish

A Mexican teen boy has been shot dead by US border patrol agents in Sonora, just across the Arizona border.
The boy was killed after he threw rocks at the guards.
US authorities have claimed 16-year-old Antonio Elena Rodriguez was shot dead after guards had ordered him and a group of youths to stop hurling rocks.
The US Customs and Border Protection said the boys kept throwing missiles, causing the agents discharged their weapons.
Human rights groups have been angered by the incident which some observers have alleged was discriminatory and excessive.
Witnesses have said Rodriguez died from several bullet wounds.
The shooting by was the third fatal incident since September.
At least 15 other Mexican civilians have been shot dead by American patrols since 2010.
Another teenage boy, Sergio Adrian Hernandez Guereca, 15, was shot and killed in June following an incident in which US authorities said had been throwing rocks at an agent on the fringes of the El Paso border with Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.
The US border authorities have said they consider use of bullets in response to rock throwing a legitimate defence but will now carry out follow-up investigations.
Following this week's incident, the Mexican Ministry of Exterior Relations said in a statement: "The disproportionate use of lethal force in the exercise of immigration control functions is unacceptable under any circumstances. These kinds of acts, especially because they are recurring, have been rejected by Mexican society and all of the country's political powers."
