Britain Starts Counter Petition To Keep Piers Morgan Back In America

Image
Earlier this week there where reported petition that was started in the US – aiming to  kick CNN host Piers Morgan out of America . The number of signatures on that list has since grown from 30 000 to more than 70 000! The uproar started after Morgan called gun advocate Larry Pratt an “unbelievably stupid man” on his CNN program during a discussion about the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre. The petition that followed accuses Morgan of engaging “in a hostile attack against the U.S. Constitution” and wants to deport him “immediately for his effort to undermine the Bill of Rights and for exploiting his position as a national network television host to stage attacks against the rights of American citizens.” But in a hilarious twist, a counter petition has now been started in Britain – aiming to keep Morgan in the United States, and out of the UK. It is called ”Keep Piers Morgan in the USA”: We want to keep Piers Morgan in the USA. There are two very good ...

GEJ, Abati and the Ribadu report

Reuben Abati and Doyin Okupe are amongst the best in their business. And by this, I mean the business of dissembling. That was exactly what Abati did in his latest treatise, “Jonathan and the Ribadu Report”. I don’t begrudge both men. Their job is to be evasive and to try as much as possible to mislead while continuously throwing lies at us in the hope that some will stick; our responsibility is to cut through their BS. Indeed, it was a lot of BS that Abati attempted to heap on us in his last outing. Abati began his latest assault on our collective sensibilities with an overdose of insult when he wrote, “It is so unfortunate that there has been so much ignorant carping and malicious tittle-tattling about the report of the Petroleum Revenue Task Force chaired by Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, both failings arising from a deliberate attempt to individualise what was actually a group work, a mischievous attempt to politicise one report out of three, and to smuggle into an emergent grand web of c...

Here comes The Miracle Money Prophet Who Can Make You Rich Mysteriously

Image
If you know you need money, you love money, you want money and invariably you can't do without money. All i ask of you is to purse what ever you are doing now and meet this MOG who will show you how to make this money.   Founder and Senior Pastor of Spirit Embassy Ministries, Prophet Uebert Angel has brought ‘miracle life’ in Zimbabwe to another level .  His name has become synonymous with miracles, signs, wonders and accurate prophecies. His prophetic gifting often reveals people’s names, addresses and some pertinent information on the lives of members of the community. While prophesying, he can even tell you how old your pregnancy is, the last email you read before you came to church or your O-Level and A-level results. Prophet Angel pulled a shocker to South African Pastors during a conference when he testified that while living in the UK, life was not as smooth as it is now. Much to the surprise of the congregation that he was preaching to, the now flamboy...

Nasir El-Rufai on Friday: The Opportunity Cost Of Corruption – By Chinedu Ekeke

Ekeke has these qualities and more, and for many requires no introduction. His blogging site www.ekekeee.com is one of the top three platforms offering Nigerian youths an outlet to articulate, debate and express their diverse views. When presidential mouthpiece Reuben Abati wrote about ‘collective children of anger’, he was probably referring to Chinedu and these youths whose conscience cannot be purchased with the gift of contracts, money or positions in a hapless federal government whose decisions and actions are daily compromising their future!  Nasir El-Rufai on Friday: Young Voices:   Apart from being young – with their ages ranging from 20 to early 30s, all our young voices have a few qualities in common. They are all honest, passionate, patriotic, detribalized, intelligent, thoughtful and angry about the Nigerian condition. Our last young voice for the year – Mr. Chinedu Chinedu trained as an accountant and works as one, but following the footsteps of accountin...

PEPPER-SOUPING AND BIG-STOUTING, AS NIGERIA DECAYS

Sincere condolences to the loved ones left behind by my big friend, General Owoye Azazi, former Kaduna Governor, Patrick Yakowa, the pilot, Commamder Murtala Mohammed Daba, First Officer Yemi Sowole, and others who departed this sinful and ephemeral world in the ill-fated even of upper Saturday December 15, 2012. Enough happens daily to remind us all of the flimsiness of life, of the vanity of the whole thing, but perhaps very few Nigerians learn. Most have resorted to bribing ‘God’ by donating to their various religious houses and leaders. Yet there are too many opportunities, daily, begging to be taken, by which we can make profound meaning and cause positive change in society. Azazi I knew well enough, since he was Deputy Commandant at the War College. I was then a banker, and I knew him to be a kind, simple but terribly intelligent man. I recall telling him I wouldn’t have minded ending up in the Army, for I loved the discipline and Spartan-ness that comes ...

OPEN LETTER FROM DELE MOMODU TO PRESIDENT GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHER

Dele Momodu (born May 16, 1960) is a Nigerian Journalist and Publisher. The reputable Nigerian has a few words to say to the President. Do you agree with his train of thought? Your Excellency, please permit me to commiserate with you on the unfortunate and untimely death of your dearly beloved brother. I sincerely join other Nigerians in mourning what must hav e been a sad loss for you and your family in particular. As you travel back home to your tranquil village to pay your last respects, I pray you ponder on the free advice I'm about to offer you in good faith. Even if you've already returned to the gilded cage of Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja, I wish to plead that you find the time to read this open letter which I would have communicated directly if I had the privilege of a private meeting with you. Perhaps, I should quickly introduce myself as a journalist and politician. Though I have seen you a few times at functions, we have never properly met. The only time we ...

HOW Australia can teach America about gun reform

When John Howard negotiated the National Agreement on Firearms in the wake of the 1996 Port Arthur massacre he led from the front and set a standard that Barack Obama would be wise to follow, writes Peter Reith, a member of Cabinet at the time. There is always a lot of talk about policy before an election. Everybody wants to see the opposition's policy even if a lot of policies have already been released - as has been the case with Tony Abbott. Obviously it is fair enough to call for the release of policies and as much as I support the idea that the public is entitled to know what an Opposition will do in government, it is not the only issue. Let's face it, what candidates say they will do is not necessarily what they will do. Julia Gillard promised there would be be no carbon tax before the last election and Paul Keating's promise of  "LAW" tax cuts before the 1993 election. All of which suggests that you can assess a candidate before the electi...

Dele Momodu: Why I wrote the letter from Cambridge.

Fellow Nigerians, how do I thank you for the deluge of messages I received from you over the letter I wrote last week to our dear President, Dr Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan, on this page titled My   Kobo Advice for Mr President. On Twitter, Facebook, countless blogs, sms, emails and telephone calls, comments poured in torrents and I was particul arly touched by your kind prayers for me and my family. There were a few people who confessed to hating me with a passion prior to last week but God, in His infinite mercy, melted their hearts through the innocuous letter I wrote from Cambridge University, England, United Kingdom. The most dramatic response I received came from the former Managing Director of Daily Times, Chief Tola Adeniyi (aka Abba Saheed) who not only sent me a text message but also wrote me a beautiful email: “ …This letter has been circulated round the world…it was forwarded to me by 11 different contacts.” Even as I write this, twee...
